Borrowed it from my library because i wanted to try it out, looking for tips so I'm not completely lost at the start

If an area feels too hopeless, just go explore somewhere else and cone back later. There will almost always be a more viable path

Shields with good guard boost are the best thing to have

start game
pick whatever
go outside (for realz)
go in the direction of the nice man on the horse but go left of him to avoid him, get the not-a-bonfire aka grace at the church

go like north-eastish until you get to a big camp with a lot of knights you can just sneak around them get that grace, say hello to your future wife and you can now level up

vigor at 20 by the time you're like level 25-30
go visit the beach too and go find the merchant and bye a bow just for pulling enemies mostly

and unless you desperately want to start out using magic, might just be best to go with vagabond and unequip eithe e the sword or halberd to not fat roll. vagabond is the only one with a 100% block shield to start with but you can farm one like 5 minutes after you get outside from the ttorial but it still needs 16 strength

and take the golden seed keep sake for another healing flask
and make sure to eventually allot your flaks to all heal unless you played a magic character

also buy a torch, later on in the southern area you can find a dude selling a lantern which is an auto light but torch is good for early on

Unlock leveling up and your horse then do whatever you want
