I've always wanted to play but never have. Decided to download the PS4 game from the PlayStation Plus collection and fired it up last night while drunk. Sunk about 3 hours into it today. It's fun! Are all the other games in the series as good? Which weapons are the best?

aren't they only available for streaming?

for going commando the best weapons are the ryno 2 and plasma storm imo. plasma storm is the upgraded version of plasma coil (the latter seems pretty weak till it evolves). it is like a bfg from the doom games

bouncer is pretty good too. sheepinator good for that one gladiator challenge that has like 60 waves. can pretty much do all of it till the final boss w/ the sheepinator (good for conserving ammo)

edit: oh fk you said PS4 game!!! well that game also has a bouncer but it was locked in a pre-order thing. idk if it is still possible to get. never got to experience it lol

All the mainline games are pretty good. The very first game doesn't have weapons that level up really. There are regular versions and the gold versions which are stronger. I think they're all worth checking out. I love Going Commando

A Crack in Time is the best to me. Their biggest game besides the newest one

also in up your arsenal (3rd ratchet game on ps2) the plasma storm is still one of the strongest weapons (imo it is the strongest cuz it kills groups of enemies in 1 or two shots dont even have to aim at them because the electricity travels to them automatically). way more effective than the shitty fully upgraded ryno 3 lol (ryno 3 is only good till it fully upgrades into something like the Zodiac from ratchet 2 but w/ much higher ammo capacity. the zodiac fucking sucks!!!)

Theyre all kind of similar quality, but you might find some of the non standard gameplay parts of them boring to great depending on tastes. Like most of them have parts where you're just Clank that I personally dislike but others seem to actually enjoy

I like that it's light hearted and doesn't take itself incredibly seriously. This is exactly the sort of game I have in mind when I want to just wind down with something fun and leisurely.

the first game is still the peak imo. best writing, incredible music and the gameplay isn't run-and-gun but is more about tactical weapon usage and is still full of platforming. the rest of the PS2 games are still really good tho

Huh, weird, a critical and fan acclaimed series doesn't suck.
