Marge is underrated but Apu is probably my favorite non-Homer or Bart character. Only Burns comes close.

Marge is terrible at picking men. She picked that manlet guy in high school then an emotionally abusive husband in Homer who assaults their child. Of course I have never seen past the first 10 seasons so maybe Homer is better now.

I pretty recently watched through the first 10 seasons again and there is definitely some stuff in there that could be construed as such especially if you are looking for it. Hell, there is like 2-3 episodes were Marge has a mental breakdown because of neglect of things Homer did.

This stuff is obviously meant to be taken as comical and in no way serious but if you look at it from the perspective of that this is her day to day reality it can be quite damaging to ones mental health.
