Sorry, the one I was raised by didn't care. Just had to have everyone's attention, good or bad. If he had to smash someone's window to get people talking about him, he would.

Of course. Even if it's for selfish reasons, if they do good things and perform charity wouldn't that count? Or is this one of those philosophical questions where the answer depends on whether you think what really matters is what somebody thinks or what they do?

they can do good actions but i personally wouldn't consider them "good" since they have selfish motives and probably won't do the right thing in a situation where they don't benefit in some way

Yeah, sorry. I often don't mentally separate his narcissism from his sociopathy. To me it's just one issue until I thought about it. I admitted to being wrong as soon as someone posted a reason a narcissist would care.

But of course. And they'd do it better than anyone else.

Narcissists can very often do good deeds. They're just not motivated by the same things that would motivate an actual good person. Personally, idgaf if you're doing things like helping the needy just so you can brag about it or for altruistic purposes. It's still a good act and that's awesome

Dont forget that they know more about PTSD than military veterans who have PTSD.

If someone is a narcissist what can they do to change? Like surely it sounds like a mental health issue more than anything and here we are dismissing them. It comes across sometimes that only some mental health issues are worth dealing with.

Insight can help them a great deal.

One thing to keep in mind is, psychologist often misdiagnose a lot of other disorders as narcissistic personality disorder.
