Would less white males be so emboldened to commit these acts if law enforcement had a reputation of gunning them down like they do other racial groups in America?

Politicians favor guns over kids.

One party definitely favors the second amendment more than kids.

Rap music and the gang life image glorify guns just as much as right wing cowboys do. It's likely the only thing both sides would agree on.

Yeah, most of them kill themselves, so TCs comment about the police comes across as a bias.

Yes and no.

On one hand, the issue primarily boils down to a combination of mental health issues that the U.S. doesn't take seriously combined with easy access to guns combined with America's culture of toxic masculinity (why the vast majority of mass shooters have been men).

On the other hand, I do think white privilege plays a role too. You have an entire generation of young white men who've had it reinforced into their heads that American society is "for" them.

Then as they get older and get crushed under the same system that everyone else is getting crushed under, the illusion shatters and without the tools or resources to properly process that in a healthy manner, the end result is violent backlash to the society that (in their eyes) lied to them.
