I watched the body cam footage, and A-plus effort on the part of these officers. Fuckin studs, running right toward gunfire to eliminate the threat.

Excellent response to a horrendous tragedy that couldve been so much worse otherwise.

Also, in the future, I think we will completely do away with kids physically going to schools, and just opt for virtual classes 5 days a week. No morning commutes, no shitty weather, no a/c in the middle of summer, etc. And certainly no bullying, and all that bs. Sports is the only thing they will have to attend in person. Gym classes can goto hell. Go play catch with your kid, or cycling during the weekends.

will never happen. current economy requires younger parents to both have decent jobs in order to afford rent and groceries, not to mention supporting the child as well. it also would be met with fierce resistance by those parents who use school as day care

Our school system has been broken for far too long.

The police found a manifesto, but they've also said that they have no known motive beyond "resentment", at least according to the BBC.

We don't know the exact reasons from the manifesto yet. But what we do know is that he was a former student at the school. So maybe some long held resentment (the 3 staff he killed were all in their 60's, so they were likely staff back when he was a student). We also learned that he was suicidal.

The shooter messaged a former classmate that he was planning to die that day. When she told him he had so much more life to live, he said "I know, but I don't want to live. I'm so sorry. I'm not trying to upset you or get attention. I just need to die."

I saw it also, they went in with a purpose, fast, and handled the situation likely saving many lives. Not sure what's wrong with those Texas yellow bellies, but for being the big badasses Texans always claim to be, Tennessee made them look like clowns.
