Denial

That way you can pretend you don't have to be here 6 months out of the year.

At that point, why even stay here? Theres certainly better countries out there.

Because its not my money and I can't afford a house on my own elsewhere because I don't work. Summer sucks more than America so as much as I'd like to avoid both, I kinda can't.

I live in MN and would agree I don't really see a different region of the US where I feel any desire to go despite having some general wanderlust.

Relatively sane/functional government, weather that keeps out anyone who doesn't really want to be here, a fair amount of both city/outdoor activities, water without natural disasters, etc. The seasons make life interesting/variable moreso than they're a problem, really. I doubt beach vacations would be as much fun if I didn't live here.

It ain't perfect, but it's a solid place to be.

Idk if any state has the perfect combination of climate, political climate, legal weed, low cost of living, things to do, and low traffic

Montana, by default. It's the only one I've lived in and I'm comfortable here.

Personally, I'd say Michigan is the closest to such a thing.

Nice weather, not that expensive to live in, and weed is perfectly legal. Politically speaking, though, Michigan is more debatable.

So far the only states that seem to be decent are ones that start with M - itll probably end up being MN or MI all things considered.
