Because its not my money and I can't afford a house on my own elsewhere because I don't work. I live in MN and would agree I don't really see a different region of the US where I feel any desire to go despite having some general wanderlust. Relatively sane/functional government, weather that keeps out anyone who doesn't really want to be here, a fair amount of both city/outdoor activities, water without natural disasters, etc. The seasons make life interesting/variable moreso than they're a problem, really. I doubt beach vacations would be as much fun if I didn't live here. It ain't perfect, but it's a solid place to be. --- Pronounced "Whup-pot". Say it.
