I remember it was memed to hell when the trailers were dropping because of "Chaos Chaos Chaos" and Jack walking away listening to his MP3 player and goofy stuff like that, but I find goofy stuff like the latter example charming

I also heard it plays like Dark Souls which I find anti-charming

Just curious if the game itself turned out any good

Lot of people love it actually. Its leaning into the cringe. Its self-aware. But has fantastic souls-like combat. I started it and havent gotten very far I just am never in the mood for that type of game

I liked the gameplay for a bit... but it started to drag towards the end for me... The horrible story only made it worse...

I beat it just to see how it could end... and the only reason I didn't trade it in or sell it is because it has a nice steelbook for my collection...

The story is not very good and only really picks up in the final hours, still memeable as hell though.

Gameplay on the other hand is pretty fun and only gets better as you go on. Especially when you unlock Chaos mode in post game.

jack is great, the rest of the cast might as well not exist, story is dumb (and carried by jack), gameplay is okay

the ff9 evil forest theme remix was a banger

I played like half of it and got bored. Story is so boring.
