It's a thought experiment about ethics. There was this flash version with about 20 different variants I saw some people talking about last year and it was interesting what some people decided to do or not to do.

But yeah the other argument is usually about the morality and ethics of getting involved and being "directly responsible" for that one death so they'd rather just not touch the lever at all. It's a weird moral code for sure.

When it gets rely stupid is the question of if its ok to push a fat dude in the way of the trolly. If the man has enough weight to stop the trolly (which has enough speed/force to run over five people.) then I wont be able to make them move. its isnt a question of morality anymore its a question of basic physics.
