More like she just didn't bother to campaign in states that she needed to win because she thought "They're blue states, I'm blue they'll vote for me"

Time was when conservatives would froth with fury over consenting adults having sex outside of wedlock. Now their hatred extends to those doing it within wedlock too, if it's not Biblically-approved sex. There's just no pleasing some people.

And I'm proud of CE as a whole for recognizing right off the bat that is meant to challenge Obergefell in the Supreme Court.

I'm not saying it was the fault of liberals. I'm saying it's the fault of Republicans who are shocked, *shocked,* that their elected officials are doing exactly what they promised to do when they were campaigning.

Those Republicans (had they voted their own beliefs), in conjunction with liberals, would easily defeat any of the political candidates who ran on such campaign promises.

But that'd require people to vote based on campaign promises, not gang colors.

They aren't shocked. They just use the "well I don't support THAT!" as a shield against supporting knowingly asshole policies like this when they continue to vote for knowingly asshole republican politicians.

Important to be specific on this.

The SC wouldn't be prohibiting interracial marriage. They would be overturning Loving v. Virginia. This would take the question of interracial marriage back to the states.

And THEN the MAGA states would pounce.

Also I think the Respect for Marriage Act was mentioned earlier.

A state making a law banning same-sex marriage or interracial marriage would NOT be in violation of the RfMA.

Because that law says that all states must recognize any marriage that took place in a state where the marriage was legal.

So a state banning certain marriages would have to respect that kind of marriage from someone out of state, but they can still prevent new marriages from being recognized AND declare marriages that took place in their state as unrecognized.

I'm surprised that a state law banning homosexual marriage hasn't been challenged and passed up the courts to the SC yet...
