harder to keep people down if they can use downtime to do personal work, save money, learn skills, read books etc

you want them staring at a screen pretending to look busy because that keeps them from going to /r/antiwork and stuff or job hunting for better life

who knows they might even be GASP a vtuber and about to quit when their channel takes off!

Because then employees can slack off more.

They are still getting 100% of the work assigned to them done still, you say? Well now they can't tell if they can pile more work in you or not. It might only take you 4 hours to do everything, but that's 4 hours they could normally ask you to do more work that's not part of your job description.

also the fat rich people at the top are out of touch and never worked honest day in their lives

so they hear x worker took 10 minutes to go for a walk after they got all their work done for the day

and they have a literal fucking meltdown

ON MY DIME! NO NO NO
HOW DARE THEM

WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE!!!

meanwhile said person melting down basically does nothing all day long but drink pricey liquor while reading about stocks or golfing and such

I'm glad I'm allowed to work from home 1-2 days a week. I'm more concentrated at home and can solve challenging tasks quicker and more effectively. I work at least as much (if not more) than in the office.

My bosses are great. They trust me, because we know each other for 15 years.

A lot of it is based on weird mindsets that we already have solutions for. There are a large amount of jobs that can easily be wfh, but someone in the process is too stupid/stubborn to realize how to make it work.
