It was a good, solid game. Dragon Quest 2 is tough, but cool.

3 is my favorite in the series, although I only played up to 9. Don't know if I will get the remake, the SNES version nostalgia still runs strong for that game, one of the better looking games for the system. I guess the only problem with 3 is that it feels like you always have to grind like 10 levels before the final dungeon, but it isn't as bad as 1 & 2 when it comes to the enemy level curve, although the GB games help mitigate a lot of problems with this with thier faster leveling, although the NES ones are pretty rough in this regard.

I owned it when I was a kid on NES, wasn't endgame armor something like Erickson's Armor and you had to find it in a black pit of death? If not i'm thinking of another game. Either way, I beat it and I was like 10 years old.

I've only played 7, 8, and 11.

Just remembered I did play 9 a bit but not much.

Dragon Warrior was one of those games that really got me excited as a kid already into exploration gaming.

Also, this was a fucking S-tier game cover.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

I had been replaying through the ports of the original trilogy on the Switch (3, then 1, then 2), and while the first two games I played have honestly held up pretty well thus far, I got turned off of 2 near the end of the game. Mostly because I've reached a point where I have to do a lot of grinding (10+ levels, I think) to even come close to handling the final dungeon, and I was just burned out.

Also disappointed that a lot of the stuff from 3 (the Pachisi tracks, mostly, but also stuff that was just in the GBC version) got cut, because that leaves almost no reason to do the secret boss.

Yes. They're still awesome games, too, though.
