not the only one who feels this way. Ive been a diehard RE fan since the original came out on PS1. 4 ruined the franchise. Theres a reason why 5 and 6 were such garbage games after 4 came out. They changed too much, and turned it into a shitty generic action game.

The franchise started as survival horror and turned into sub par action game because of 4.

Remasters never win goty.

youre comparing video games with gameplay mechanics to a movie where you just sit there and watch.

4 introduced way too much and strayed too far from the core gameplay that made RE appealing in the first place. The QTE events were stupid AF. Leon was a whiney annoying character in 4.

The comparison is still valid. But if you have legitimate issues with 4 in and of itself, even when not thinking about 5 and 6, then you are entitled to your opinion. Even if most do disagree with it. Many complain that it led to 5 and 6, but most still loved 4. Most, not universal by any means.

two totally different mediums that arent even worth trying to compare honestly. If the remake of 4 is the same gameplay as RE2 and 3 remake, it might be good.

RE 4 and 5 were still good and fun entries in the RE saga, it is only RE 6 that was a dumpster fire.

I think that GOTY is a long way off and with the year just starting I would hold off saying RE 4 remake GOTY until we see the competition and how RE 4 remake turns out.

No RE 5 was still great, it only built on what was good about RE 4.

RE 6 is when they jumped the shark with QTEs out the ass, shitty bullet sponges, lame story, and trying to be a Michael bay movie in game form.

The RE3 Remake was a short as hell, rushed piece of shit that I never want to see again.

Also I have lost all interest in the RE4 Remake since Capcom can bring it out for their bedfellows Playstation in PS4/5 but are only releasing it on Series X.

lol bad opinions. The 2 and 3 remakes were great because they brought the series back to the survival horror genre. I do agree 3 was way too short.

Im still hoping for a code Veronica remake. That is my fav RE of the whole series

This was about logic and thought, not medium. it is the same with Hollywood following Jaws and Star Wars, and how some blame the original movies instead of what followed. It is the same exact thing. No idea why you think it is different.

But you weren't doing what I assumed anyway, so it is a moot point. I am done "debating" with someone incapable of it.

Resident Evil is a shit franchise and a worse version of RE4 with gameplay swapped out for walking around slowly and less endearing versions of the characters is what we deserve.

Wholeheartedly disagree with you about the RE3 Remake being great.

They took out about 95% of the game and it wasn't the same without Nemesis chasing you shouting S.T.A.R.S, S.T.A.R.S, S.T.A.R.S.

Also I didn't like the new look Jill very much. She was ugly compared to the gorgeous creature they have in Revelations 1.

Code Veronica is also my favourite RE game. I must really download it again. I haven't played it since my Dreamcast days.

code Veronica was badass. I remember that game being really hard, too.

The game has quite a few fundamental issues: the backtracking, the cheap deaths & hits (even in speed runs, speed runners are constantly getting hit due to the poor enemy placement and mechanics ), the terribly implemented character switching and just over all the genericness of it. The game is a positive nightmare to A rank as a causal like me. You can only save once, half way through the game (after the airplane) and essentially have to play two, hour and half segments perfectly in a game loaded with cheap hits and deaths. Absolutely brutal, although both characters are absurdly tanky, since you can take like eight hits before dying, which is nuts for a RE game, although you will need it

I'm fearing there could be a pattern here:
RE1, 2, 3, 1R - Great games for their time
RE4 - Ruined the series for years
RE7, 2R, 3R, 8 - Some of the best games ever
RE4R - ???

The original game is perfect. It doesn't need to be remade.
