There's no planet where this doesn't end up being a "disappointment" due to the unrealistic hype.

I'm sure it's going to be a great game especially for Harry Potter fans but I don't see this being the game of the generation that alot of people are making it out to be. Although I'd love to be wrong

I'm expecting mediocre. People are invested in the HP universe, so they'll slog through it. It'll be looked on fondly if it manages to not be s buggy mess

I'm trying to temper some of my hardcore Harry Potter-fan friends expectations. Like it isn't impossible that the game is good, but being good would be a literal first for this developer.

I think it'll be around the 80ish range. Maybe a little above or a little below.

I'll be surprised if it's much lower or higher.

But it's also hard to say because I don't actually know what the gameplay loop is supposed to be. I could easily see it not being what people hoped for since this is the kind of game that can really be damaged by imagining what it could be instead of what it is.

Regardless if it gets negative reviews you're gonna have a lot of people saying it's because of the controversy.

Hey, they did the Genesis port of UMK3! That ain't too shabby

But they also did Trilogy and Mythologies. Ewwwww

Wasnt gonna play it either way, but it will probably be average. Probably very standard open world stuff with quests just interesting enough to move the plot along and some weird buggy shit that ends up in most open world games (maybe more considering the dev)

Most people consume games the same way they consume other media, if it's at least passable it'll be good enough, especially with a Harry Potter coat of paint

I watched some gameplay and the combat looked pretty meh. Lots of keeping distance, dodging and pelting things with projectiles. It kind of reminds me of playing DMC5 but only using Dr Faust.
I didn't care about the room customisation and the animal collecting at all. Struck me like a bunch of menuing and not a lot more.

If they made it play like the Chamber of Secrets PC game where jumping off a moving platform gives you extra upward/forward momentum and the protag will not stop yelling FLIPENDO!! though, that'd be cool.
