Dude is still huge and ripped but yeah as you get older it's hard to stay lean.

He's a legit good actor

I'm not sure why he's so tied up with legacy. I think the majority of his notoriety is as a wrestler anyway.

That said he's got better range than most of the dudes who tried their hand at acting coming out of pro wrestling.

He said the makeup takes too long to put on and irritates his skin. He asked to wear a shirt in the movies so it would only be his face and hands but they told him no.

Drax is an easy character to reinvent anyway. You could literally just adapt the Drax mini series into a D+ show and explain all the changes while also getting a more comic accurate personality.

Playing the same role for a decade with a massive amount of makeup required is almost assuredly a huge bore to most actors in demand, even if for a lot of money.

Hell, I remember various actors and actresses that played Klingons, Cardassians, and especially Ferengi being relieved when their respective shows, and especially DS9, ended to a degree, even recognizing that their careers had basically all peaked with a few exceptions. Sitting in a makeup chair for hours a day is exhausting from what I understand.

Just assume more than half the actors are getting replaced after Secret Wars anyway. The longer theyve been around, the higher the chance theyre gone.

I have a feeling that most of the original Guardians (well, 'original' as it relates to the MCU) will be stepping down from their roles after Vol. 3.

Exactly. I already had my fill of MCU Drax during GotG Vol 2. The holiday special was just grating to me.

It'd be kinda funny / cool if they brought Stallone back to lead a 'new' team of the original comics Guardians, like the diamond-skinned guy whose name escapes me (although Yondu would be out, for obvious reasons).

in comics Drax is super serious and just wants to kill Thanos as he is a being created for the sole purpose of.... killing Thanos

Angela from Spawn that is, Marvel bought her a few years ago and shoved her into the GotG comics.
Also she is Thor's legit long lost sister lol.

Ive always thought the Holiday Special was a bad idea. Because its going to be very one watch and forget if all the GotG characters die in the next movie. Whos going to watch that movie next year if Drax gets gutted by some giant monster? Like, youve killed the possibility of the Holiday Special being a yearly classic. Nobody would rewatch Rudolph every year if all the reindeer got killed off in the sequel. It undercuts the happy message at the end of the special.

Unless it is a variant Venom, I dont think they are ready for Agent Venom as that needs Flash Thompson to be in the army and lose his legs.

Yeah this. I really do hope we get to see more of the GotG crew, because apparently the game sold under expectations for Square Enix.

Thanks to multiverse shenanigans they can cut down most introductory stories and just get into the meat.
