Pretty sure the trial is endless all the way up until Heavensward these days, isn't it?

Edit - Nvm, suppsoedly you get 30 days of free trial, sorry, been a while, that bad I bought Endwalker and still yet to play it.

Oh yeah, I'd like to add to my last post that the games added are real cheapies. I usually like to add some cheapies to my wishlist when we're getting close to the end to help out those that want in the drawing but can't afford to throw down much.

I played FF14 on Steam I never had any problems with it

Just curious about whether it's performance related, or something with the subscription.

I played the free version of FF14 briefly on PS4/5 and never paid a dime. When I looked into it on Steam I saw you had to buy the game and buy a subscription, but I wasn't clear on if that's always the case.

It's still fine on Steam but there can be some minor inconveniences for some people. You can't get on when steam goes down, you're locked into buying expansions on Steam when SE usually has more sales on their site. There have definitely been times where the launcher has issues with Steam.

Long as we're chatting up in here any Yakuza fans? Thinking of rebuying on Steam but I only meet minimum requirements on the Dragon Engine games, so I kind of want to try whichever one is most demanding before I commit. I've also read that some of them are poorly optimized.

I'll name drop "Northern Journey" as being one of the most atmospheric games I've played, took me about 11 hours and nothing has stuck with me like this in a long time.

I'll also recommend "Mage and Monsters". It's a little auto battler that I've sunk some time into, very simple and pretty inexpensive!

N2O: Nitrous Oxide. A little background about this game.

Its a psychedelic tunnel shooter, originally released as a PS1 exclusive. I played this game back in the late 90s when it was originally released and I STILL play it once in a while. (Cool thing is that the PS1 disc plays perfectly fine on my PS2/PS3)

I dont know any other games like it. Some will say Tempest, which i also grew up playing but i dont think so. Theres some similarities but this game is unique;
As you proceed further down the tunnel your ship travels faster, there is a timer too and when that timer runs out "drills" come up from the floor and damage your ship.

It's hard to explain and obviously not for everyone but check out this gameplay video if you're curious:

Also, the soundtrack is done pretty much entirely by The Crystal Method so it fits the gameplay perfectly. The game was recently re-released on Steam and featues QoL improvements like saving anywhere and smoother graphics (it can get pretty intense)

I think of the games I've gifted, this is probably the one I liked to have gifted the most. You really seem high on that game and like it a lot. Definitely am glad I chose that one for ya and am glad that you mentioned it in passing before I did.

Yakuza 0 still has my favorite final boss and final boss music in terms of beat 'em ups. Hell it has one of my favorite regular boss themes as well.

so it's official, i unlocked every achievement in Vampire Survivors and the DLC, adding it to my Perfect Games list, and in all likelihood never ever playing it again ever lol. although i didn't unlock all of the secret characters yet, so i'm gonna keep it installed and i may or may not grind those out at least. awesome game. the last week or so is just a giant blur of gems and projectiles, and it was glorious.

Definitely grabbing this on Xbox as soon as I get a new controller (my left thumbstick went limp and won't respond last night). Half tempted to unbox one of my limited edition controllers just so i can play some games.

You missed out on a great franchise tbh, it's nothing like GTA at all. When characters die in GTA I don't really care, but when a Yakuza character dies, especially a well-written supporting character...it hurts, man. And it's not afraid to show when the MCs are hurting too. Definitely give it another chance, Yakuza 0 in particular is a fan favorite for good reason.

will reinstall it next time I finish a game on the xbox and give it another try...just hate going through that looooooooong intro again...lol

Yakuza 0 is one of the best games Ive ever played personally. The characters and story really mean a lot to you in the game. The gameplay isnt perfect, but you could lower the difficulty and mainly button mash your way through too. It takes a little bit for you to get used to the subtitles also. I dont remember being hooked on the game from the get go either.

Hope you have more fun with it next time around, I was completely on board with it after completing Chapter 1, that Long Battle followed by a hype as hell first boss was just too good.
