There's a lot of stuff not on there, or they'll only have a few albums from a band's discography, but there's still a lot of bands on there that I wasn't expecting to find.

I also really like that I can play it on my PS4 at the same time as playing a game.

I dropped them over Joe Rogan stuff, but I do miss the Yakuza soundtracks, which aren't on Tidal

So long as it requires a login for passive listening, I'll never bother.

on Apple Music now and its better in some ways but it has a lot less obscure metal than Spotify

I switched to using Spotify when I got my new car back in June (my old iPod wasn't recognized by the car). It's better than I thought it would be as well. The main gripe I have with it is that, while I can upload my own songs to Spotify, it's a really finicky system. Most songs play on my phone without issue, but some songs just refuse to work, even though I followed the same steps as the other songs.

I've always ignored Joe Rogan and all the topics on here about him.

I'm honestly not sure, and you guys can correct me, but i just dont see the point of spotify if my phone is basically an mp3 player, you download and convert songs from youtube or something, and play them for free on your phone

maybe im ignorant or something, but i just never saw the point of it

the point is being able to play nearly any song you want instantly in high quality without downloading and converting from YouTube or something

I prefer physical media honestly

but you can also download it in high quaility from youtube and have it forever, without streaming it, for free

still dont see the point, unless its that small convenience (which really isnt that much in the grand scheme of things if you're tech literate)

"Asstons of songs already in my phone" is still the best audio streaming service.

also theres a ton of music that isnt on YouTube at all let alone in high quality

I regret not using it sooner, works great on xbox.

I buy a lot of music as well but I don't really have a main way of listening to music.

In any given day I'll play records, Youtube, Bandcamp, mp3's etc. I'm always going back and forth.

There are downloaders which mass download links, just copy and paste differnt songs, and it downloads and converts them all

I see what you're saying though, but thats a mighty *mighty* small inconvenience to circumvent with money

i have an app on my phone where I can listen to whatever I want instantly, no matter where I am

Ill pay a pittance a month for that convenience

are you under the impression that you cant also download anything you want from Spotify/Apple/Tidal/etc to use when you dont have cell service?

That would be great because I've got a basic as fuck phone plan and don't have any data. I only use the internet at home.

Yeah you can listen to music offline.

Also Spotify is so good. I can listen to all the Japanese music and idols which are incredibly hard to find in the west.

I actually find Spotify to be quite lacking in Japanese music. I spent like an hour just searching to see what was there and what wasn't.

Although my tastes are very different from yours.

yes you can dl from spotify

also spotifys streaming quality is better than you youtubes, not to mention when you rip it and download it.....

Yeah if I want to download, say, a 10,000 song playlist I just push this button

high quality music directly on my phone without any intermediate steps

thats worth the cost of a fast food meal per month

The down arrow in a circle will download the album or playlist.

Trust me, I get where you're coming from. I was doing the same thing as you for years. But Spotify really is convenient. The sound quality is great and the car interface works well. Plus discovering and adding new music to playlists is a lot faster than searching on youtube, downloading songs you like, syncing your device to your computer, then transferring them over.

Yeah, that's the unfortunate thing about it. There's actually a ton of Japanese music on Spotify that's completely region locked. Like if you google some of the albums, they'll show up on Spotify, but you can't listen to them in the US. IIRC it's a licensing thing.

Dont get me wrong, it still doesnt have a all of the music I want either. But the selection was far bigger than I thought, so I may have exaggerated when I said all at first lol
