I can't tell if you guys are serious with some of these pokemon power levels.

Also, even IF you're right, there's still not enough firepower them them to overcome 1 billion dinosaurs.

There are some Pokmon no dinosaurs would ever be able to kill. If youre doing an everything is bloodlusted situation, the Pokmon will win eventually unless everything dies of exhaustion beforehand.

Pokemon will eventually lose all PP in their moves and Struggle to death.

This question always leaves out the most important part: the battlefield!!
Basically, if the pokemon have access to enough space to run and/or fly away from the dinos AND the dinos have no access to food or water, then the pokemon win by having some of the levitating mons who dont need food (or at least food in the traditional sense) get away as the dinos all starve to death and slowly die off after canabalizing themselves. Otherwise either the mons wont have enough space to stall out the massive wave of a billion dinos before they all starve or the requirment that the small army of pokemon alone would have to genocide the whole species in a healthy ecosystem would make it a nearly impossible task that would require some serious breeding on the pokemon side with some healthy doses of habitat and enviormetal destruction.

The single best thing a Geodude could do in that situation is blow itself up and at least take the T. rex out with it.

The thing about geodude is that it is just too small and light to put up a good fight against a large dinosaur.

we all know how dinosaurs are totally great with fire and electricity. Pretty sure one thundershock/flamethrower kills anything it touches

i dont like this question because what kind of dinosaurs? a billion t rexes? Tiny raptors? its a very important factor imo. an Overheat or a Surf from a strong poke could easily take out a whole bunch of tiny dinosaurs at once.

I feel a group of psychic pokemon alone could obliterate the dinosaurs. The pokemon that could fly and shoot practically any element would mop too.

Every single pokemon would run out of PP before they even killed 10k dinos tbh. Then they would just struggle and die.

Some Pokemon are immortal and can literally just run until all billion dinosaurs die of age.

The only real argument is whether you're including the PP mechanic in which case the Pokemon might struggle themselves to death before killing all one billion of the fuckers.

We not truly sure what all dinosaurs can fully do. Highly unlikely but they may just be able to do something to the ghosts types. If Apatosaurus takes a mega dump i'm at least sure that could possibly kill a few ghost types that stray too close if nothing else.

No dinosaurs can get near Magcargo, as its the same temperature as the surface of the sun.

One Machamp arm can move mountains and it can fire off 1000 punches in 2 seconds.

etc, etc, etc.

There's two ways this play out:

1) Non-Berserk/Unlimited PP: In this scenario Pokemon either do not run out of PP (possibly by disengaging and resting, fighting in waves, or just because that's a gameplay mechanic rather than a real world thing) AND are smart enough to fight using tactics appropriate to their intelligence level (and some Pokemon are beyond genius level intelligent). Pokemon stomp HARD. Some of them are just silly. For instance, not dinosaur can even get close enough to Macargo to attack it. Its body heat is hotter than the surface of the sun. It can literally take a nap and solo anything that comes at it. Anything that can fly and can use an elemental attack becomes a sniper. Moves like Earthquake and Surf can decimate entire groups of dinos. Lots of Water, Ghost, Flying, and Fire types can just go somewhere the dinos can't get to, such as deep in the ocean or literally into lava and chill. It might take a long time but eventually the Pokemon win.

2) Berserk mode/PP limited: Let's do some math, for science. I'm too lazy to figure out how many Legendaries there are so I'm just gonna use the total number of Pokemon. It'll add some extra weight to the Pokemon side but its not gonna matter.

There's 905 Pokemon total. We're gonna round up to 1,000 so the math gets easier. Every Pokemon can learn 4 moves max. We're gonna be *real generous* and give every Pokemon Magnitude in all four move slots. Magnitude is a move similar to Earthquake but its power varies from Base 10 to Base 150. We're using it because Magnitude has very high PP, 48 when maxed out. We'll also assume Magnitude hits an AOE like Earthquake does.

So we have 1,000 Pokemon with 192 uses of Magnitude each. We'll assume every use outright kills 1,000 dinos, so each Pokemon can kill 192,000 for a total of 192,000,000 dead dinosaurs. And then another 8,000 as each Pokemon Struggles to death.That's less than 1/5th the total dinos. Even being extremely generous with the Pokemon side by giving the a hugely powered up attack move in every slot AND considerably more numbers than they would have they don't even come close. If you want to argue that, somehow, a single move use would kill more than 1,000 dinos be my guest but that's really the only factor up for debate here. Every other factor has already been generously weighted to the Pokemon side of the scale and still comes up lacking.

Of the two, I personally think scenario 1 is more likely but its not my topic. TC is obviously trolling at this point but I wanted to do the math regardless

Nothing says the dinos can't breed. If the pokemon's strat is just to live out decades running from a never ending onslaught of dinos I think it is safe to say they lost that one.

Depends on what version but stealth rock can essentially kill infinity dinosaurs. They have no way to get rid of it and it has indefinite duration. The dinosaurs just die as soon as they run in.

The only reason there's not a "clear" answer is because every time this question is posed, people try to apply the game limitations to the Pokemon to handicap them.

The only reason Pokemon are limited to 4 moves and have PP counts on moves, are for game balance. The anime doesn't have either of those limitations. And without those limitations, Pokemon win, hands down.

With those limitations though, pokemon would lose, just because of the sheer number they're facing. It could be 1 billion of something completely harmless. They'd still run out of PP. There are currently 820 non-legendary pokemon and holy_bolt already did a quick number crunch with 1,000 pokemon. They wouldn't get anywhere close to 1 billion.

I agree with TC. A billion dinosaurs is a lot of dinosaurs. They have an insurmountable numbers advantage. When it comes to situations like "what about ghost types?" any fossil-based Pokemon (Aerodactyl, Omastar etc.) will switch sides and join their dinosaur brethren against the rest of the Pokemon, and ultimately, that will solve any potential stalemates. Trickfinger is right, and since he is right, he should shout his victory from the CE rooftops by fully clearing his entire blocklist so that all the haters can see his posts again, since they lose.

Ferrothorn solos. Bite is a dark-type move in the games, but a dinosaur bite is not dark type. No way they're gonna inflict any damage to a steel type.

So they just try to bit, crush, or slash ferrothorn and die against iron barbs.
