If there was a logical consistency to the ad rate (IE an ad or two to start, then an ad break at 25/30%, 50/60% and 75/90% of the video length for videos over X minutes) and if they were consistently skippable or of shorter (15s or less) length then it'd be understandable and manageable. But as it stands now, if you got 10 minutes to burn, and you pick a 6 minute video, it's not unrealistic that you won't even be able to finish said fucking video due to ads. However, there's a difference between paying for the infrastructure costs and funding wannabe influencers in a highly marketing-oversaturated market. The whole monetarization thing is getting out of hand. Remember the days when people uploaded videos just for fun, without earning any money in mind? The increase of ads is a consequence of uploaders/influencers getting money for the clicks/attention they get. It's a battle. A spiral, that only knows one direction, upwards. So the issue is not that I'm not willing to pay for a service at all.
