Phones as old the Fold 2 are started to have the batteries inflate and could cause fire and explosions.

Really sucks as I thought Samsung would have learned to make perfect batteries after the Note 7 fiasco.

My S6 had a swollen battery after 3 years of use, didn't damage the phone other than the back cover was bowed out a little bit and it still charged/drained fine. A repair shop replaced the battery for around $50.
I think it was caused by GearVR that was clearly too much for the phone to handle as it always entered cooldown mode in minutes and felt hot to the touch.

Uh oh, I've been using another Samsung device for over 3 years now. Maybe it's time for preventative maintenance.

I thought Samsung would start caring about battery QC after their last drama with exploding batteries but I guess the care factor dropped to 0 when the public awareness dropped to 0 as well.

Guess I'm pretty lucky to not have that problem (yet). My S10E is in its 4th year of constant use, and I've got no sign of the battery expanding, and neither with my old S7 that's not really been used as more than an alarm clock since I upgraded.

it's usually a problem for stored phones, an issue still, but it's why the news isn't as big as it could be.

only reviewers have stored a bunch of samsung phones on their drawer somewhere.

seems like the issue is that samsung phones dont like to be stored at 0% for long periods.

Never had this happen to any of my Galaxy devices. Aren't you supposed to be keeping these things within a certain range/percentage of charge if you'll be storing them long-term?

Happened to both my S6s, the only Samsung phones I own. Hasn't happened to any other brand I got.
