I kinda get the feeling I'm late to the party and not welcome. Kinda weird. This forum is like a relic of the past. Can't edit posts, can't seem to multi quote, can't visit certain boards. But, part of me kinda seam's to like it. Community doesn't seem as bad as I'd been told. I've been watching Edgerunners and as a fairly casual Anime view: can not recommend it enough, Great show.

Also, i'm on mobile and the ads are intrusive.

Some of the boards are user level protected because they is a class of people on GameFAQs who constantly get banned for posting horrendous shit then immediately create a new account and go back to the same board and continue doing the same horrible shit.

No, they generally get banned very quickly. The most you usually see from them is them complaining about being banned for some obviously ban-worthy stuff.

A lot of people don't come to CE at all, or if they're really new, are instantly thrown off by how CE is in general. Most actual new people just go and post on the game/system/topic boards that they like.

New people are allowed here, it's just that most newer accounts that come here are troll/right wing alts that only intend to make problems. If you really are new, just post normally and no one will really bother you unless you start coming off in a negative light naturally.

Also, most genuinely new people don't post topics like this for obvious reasons. >.>

I discovered this website by looking up info for The Last of Us 2 before its release. I liked the layout of the boards, so I created an account. I mostly stuck with console boards, and then I discovered social boards. Honestly if it werent for the pandemic I wouldnt have found this website. Im only here for like 5-10 minutes a day if theres no interesting topics. Its definitely chill if you talk to the right people. I ignore the trolling because aint nobody got time for dat.

That's how actual new users find stuff. The suspicious part is...not only do they have 3 karma (which means they have only been here for 3 days) but they immediately start dropping buzz words and getting confrontational.

Real talk: if you're really new here you don't need to worry about most of this nonsense. It's practically just hazing since so many people make a lot of stupid alts. If you stick around it will go away.

I mean, everyone will still be ridiculous, just in different ways. The secret of Gamefaqs and why new accounts are complicated is there is basically no work done to make trolls just not make a new account and come back. So lots of new accounts are just the same people over and over again.
