I can imagine if you're directly involved it's a big deal but if you're just in attendance, what's the point? You gotta worry about finding something nice to wear, your whole day's spent sitting down just looking at other people being happy, and then you move to another location where you do the same thing, only people are drinking.

You have the energy for this shit on a weekly basis?! That's impressive.

Well, two weeks in a row is a fluke. Previous one was June (and I was a groomsmen) and the next one is next June (my nephew). After that, the next one will likely be mine next October :)

The associated partying is fun if youre into that kind of thing. If not, yeah I can see how it wouldnt be enjoyable.

In general I enjoy the ceremony as well. Especially if I like the people.

Yep. I certainly enjoy celebrating with friends, and being a guest at a major life event. It helps that most of them have very good taste, and know how to celebrate with a hell of a party.

Not really enjoyable for me. The ceremony is nice, but anything after is a drag for me.

Dancing is fun.
Hanging with friends and/or meeting new people is fun.
Being there for an important time in a loved one's life is meaningful.
Dressing up is fun.
Free food and an open bar (usually)...speaks for itself lol.

You gotta worry about so much. If you're dancing, people might think you look silly. There's a lot of pressure when it comes to meeting and impressing new people. Dressing up is expensive for a lot of people. Free food sounds good. I don't like environments where everyone drinks, though.

It's fun watching 2 people very happy and from the weddings I've been to, everyone seems to be in the moment. Usually some awesome food and great fun with friends and family. Tons to enjoy at weddings.

I still struggle with this, even when it is with my fiance. You think I would have enough confidence by now, but nope.

These are definitely "you" issues. Most people aren't that concerned with any of these things.

You're telling me the average person isn't concerned with how they're able to get and afford a tuxedo or dress for an event that they were pressured into going to in the first place?

Depends whose wedding really.

Only wedding i liked going to was my own haha. Been to a handful or so with my wife. They were all for people she knew or her family knew so i was just there running out the clock and eating as much as i can.

I do well with smaller groups of people so i was just trying to find a place to sit down and use my phone. I dont like to dance or socialize with people i dont know and unless its at a work setting.

I've been to a couple and I didn't really care about being there... But the day wasn't for me, it was for the couple so what I thought doesn't matter...

Luckily I don't know anyone else who's getting married ever so I have no more to ever go to...

You don't wear a tuxedo. Either a suit or combo of pants, button down shirt with tie and/or sport coat. Most guys have some of these.

you need to step out of your own head man. You being pressured into going doesnt mean everyone is pressured into going.

I know that much, but I suppose for me it's hard to believe that most people attending a wedding would be excited to go to one.

I can't recall a single wedding I've been in which the dress code required a tuxedo. At most a 2-piece suit (but I like 3-piece), which most people should have on hand for occasions anyways.

First of all you don't need a tux lol and no, they don't because most people already have nice, dress up clothes. And most guests aren't pressured. They actually want to go and celebrate their friends/family.

Well, it looks like a good deal of CE likes them. And if CE, which is known for a higher than average level of asocial guys, mostly likes them, I imagine it is higher for the general population.

Lol yeah I didn't even wear a tux for my own wedding. Our in person wedding was canceled due to covid, we had a zoom wedding, but I still wore the same fitted suit I would have worn.
