basically normally lets just say youre walking down a country road and its playing the country road song. And then you encounter an enemy and it plays the battle music. And then depending on where you are in the game the songs change and all that. Thats the normal behaviour.

and then during a hype moment like youre raiding the final bosses fortress or something, it plays the fortress invasion music but it doesnt get interrupted by battles, it just keeps going and keeps the hype up. Whats that called and what games do it? Trails series does it

I'm not aware of any special name for that. It definitely raises the intensity of the stuff though. Or like when you're talking to a guy right before the final boss fight and you all try to talk things out, then resolve that you'll never see eye to eye. And so as a result, the final boss fight part one theme starts playing at the enemy says it is time to fight for your convictions.

ff5 is the earliest example of which i know, with the battle of the big bridge theme persisting.

Zelda II since the boss theme did play when the fight started?

i think tc means examples where battles don't override the tune.

i had given up hope, this one is close enough though. although not necessarily because the tracks are long (they usually are) but purely have that behaviour to hype up the moment
