Dex getting cut isnt a big deal. No one cares anymore. Ill take the cut dex and add the open World aspects any day of the week and be happy about it.

• Forced EXP share instead of it being a toggle like in past games
• Barebones Wild Area with the Pokemon just thrown in haphazardly
• Poor graphics and presentation
• No postgame at all and no new areas to discover after beating the game
• Incredibly badly-design online features (Y-Comm is a broken mess; just give us back the PSS from Gen 6)
• Extremely linear region design with very small towns; even Wyndon, the game's London analogue, is barren despite the game stating it being full of people
• Essentially no real dungeons (making the Escape Rope key item useless)
• The game holding your hand for even the most basic of things such as walking to a hotel 10 feet to the left after the game already told you where to go
• Some other things I'm probably forgetting

The DLC isn't actually on the cart, it just has the unlock code/license for the DLC on the cart. You actually still have to download the DLC as an update.

It's not. You can literally swap between a regular Pokemon Sword/Shield cartridge and a Sword+EXP/Shield+EXP cartridge on your Switch at will and it interprets it as the same game with the same save file. And when you put a Sword+EXP/Shield+EXP cartridge in for the first time it just comes up as regular Sword/Shield (if you don't have it on your Switch already) and forces you to download the DLC.

It's not even just the Dex cut.

It's the other things, such as:
* Forced EXP share instead of it being a toggle like in past games

* Barebones Wild Area with the Pokemon just thrown in haphazardly

* Poor graphics, animations, and presentation. It says a lot when they can't even have a guy singing in a cutscene when he clearly is, when even Roxie in BW2 was able to have vocals.

* No postgame at all except for the obligatory Battle Tower and no new areas to discover after beating the game

SwSh did do some things right, mainly in regards to QoL in getting a competitive team ready, but overall, it just missed the mark in many other areas.

unlike Diamond and Pearl, this game was actually built around it.

Snagged sword with expansion from my local gamestop at 37.99, pretty happy expecially since it worked with my old sword save file and the dlc literally just dropped into my key items. This is gold, the dlc is in the cartridge, no online needed.
