even our cavemen ancestors hunted out of need. If they had a full belly, enough pelts and some fresh carcass in their cave theyd not go out of their way to kill a doe walking by.

most apex predators dont kill for funsies too, though a few do.

turns out a few apes, like chimps, are brutal and psychotic. Humans are apes too,so I guess we share that psychotic thing.

I feel like it's a remnant of an older time when we had a different relationship with nature. Like it was something that had tons of resources that you could go and grab.

Depends on where you are.

Some hunting is state sanctioned to manage populations of troublesome animals.

Farmers might hunt/hire someone to hunt predators or pests attacking livestock or eating crops.

Some areas of the world or poor areas of others might depend on hunting for a good deal of their food even outside of isolated tribes and such.

You have some religiously motivated hunting as well.

And people who hunt for sport might sell or give the meat and materials away.

Some are just psychos though yeah. Basically if they gave both hunting and MAGA stuff in their feed this is the case.

I mean dont get me wrong I dont have an issue with sport hunting unless theyre not using the meat and just leaving the carcass to rot in the woods.

I just saw a reddit post about a psycho woman that went "hunting for bears" in MT and ended shooting a husky for fun and pretended it was a "wolf puppy" and skinned it alive and enjoyed it and took pictures.

The post is not super gory but I am not sure it can be posted here. But this confirms me that people who hunt for fun are psychos.
