So, I basically have been offered a work from home writing job for $50K. I currently make $46K as a high school teacher.

This new job has a 401K and PTO, but does not supply their own health insurance.

I spoke with an insurance representative and can get a plan for $153 a month that has no deductibles since I don't go to the doctor very often.

Anyone think that's worth it or not?

$153 x12 is $1836, and that's before any actual medical costs.
I think you're getting screwed here.

Would have to hear details on your current work provided plan vs. What you are looking into buying.

This is kinda what I'm thinking too

Giving up your current job for just a $4k increase per year does not sound good with that health insurance situation

unless you think you'll increase your mental health by a huge percentage, idk if i'd take this

Considering how expansive good health insurance is on top of dental, and other benefits you're actually making less to be honest. Alot less.

Unless you're in peak health and don't believe you're be ill or in a accident anytime soon I don't recommend it. But I've gone months, even more then a year+ without insurance at times so I'm not really one to talk I guess.
