Saw 4 was confusing and bad Depending on your preference, it may take a long time (if ever) for the series to recover for you, if you didn't like 4. I couldn't 100% get back into Saw until like Spiral & stuff. Consider sticking with it or skipping ahead a bit in the order of the sequels or skipping around to at least see how everything goes for that story and if you find something you like or can look back and appreciate Saw 4 a little more. I'd say as a whole, the series at least matches the concepts behind Saw I/II & at least meets their basic goal, which was a bunch of sequels or spin-offs and clones in the same vein of at least Saw 2, ~ IE Chucky, Halloween, Friday, Nightmare, etc. Saw 1 is much more of an independent film. I actually like to think of it in its own little world or bubble, without any of the stuff that happened in the later movies. Great meta casting, etc Like, even just having ~~Tobin Bell vs Danny Glover~~ with poor ~~Cary Elwes~~ and ~~Leigh Whannell~~ who played ~~Laurence and Adam~~ respectively, and omg even ~~Michael Emerson~~'s role (~~Zep~~) and even having ~~Ken Leung~~ who you might know from Lost , there is really special and super influential as far as horror movies goes.
