No. A Wonderful Life is the only game that's had your character grow older. I don't like my character aging. I understand it's for "realism" but I don't care for realism in Harvest Moon. Hopefully it's only noticeable in the later years. I've gotten to year 3 in Harvest Moon 64, Harvest Moon DS and Harvest Moon: Animal Parade. I've never made it to year 4 in any game. If aging is something that affects past year 5 or so, then maybe I'd check it out.

Fam! Do you have a Switch? You should play Friends of Mineral Town like me. I'm at Spring 21 now. Working on growing my vegetables to have over 10k by Summer 1. I plan on buying 1 or 2 Pineapple seeds (they're 1k each) and a sheep. The sheep cost 4k. I have 2k now but I just upgraded my watering can to silver which cost 2k and I bought a chicken for 1.5k and a cow for 4k.

I've been giving the Harvest Goddess turnips every day and my boy Kappa a daily cucumber. I'd attempt marrying the Harvest Goddess but I don't believe she lives with you or anything so seems pointless.

I found out Ran likes boiled eggs so I've been doing that but I only have 1 chicken so I'll need to hatch a few more so I can continue selling eggs every day.

Marrying Harvest goddess was my second attempt after popuri. I was shocked that u can marry her eventhough she displayed no hearts at all. Like u said it was kinda pointless after all the grinding in order to marry her but I do it anyways because of dat pixel waifu cleavage. I remember fishing all legendary fish for her. Shipping 100 of each crops for her. Confessing to the priest to want marry her. Expanding my house and buying big bed for her. Definitely going to play switch version soon.

Oh the free truffles go for it famalam. I used to buy dem in bulk when theres a horse festival. Put them 30 stacks of shroons and ship it for easy money.

I made it to Summer 3. Bought my sheep and some pineapple & other Summer seeds. Going to be rich in like three weeks.

Pioneers of Olive Town isnt a remake. Its pretty good now imo.

I'm almost to Autumn in FoMT. I love it. I'm so addicted. I just got my first alpaca after selling Pineapples for the second time. I enjoyed Pioneers of Olive Town when I played it but I played before it got "better". There was a TON of lag problems due to needing to have 10+ makers of each type on your plot of land at once but apparently they fixed all that. There is also some DLC which fixed other bugs and brought in villagers from previous Story of Season games. I'll probably replay it once I finish FoMT although my waifu Linh will never be replaced.

At Summer 30. Have 20k gold in my savings.
Made my house bigger.
Upgraded my bag to hold 8 tools and 16 items
Got Carter to max friendship so I can now get the back door of the church unlocked in Autumn
Got every Nature Sprite to 3+ friendship but I haven't used them yet
Have four chickens. I have no clue how but one of my chickens won the festival so I'm awaiting golden eggs
Have my cow (lost the festival), a sheep and an alpaca
Got a fridge
I forgot how many pets we can have. If we can have two I may buy a dog on Autumn 15. If not I'll wait for the cat in Spring
Got a few other peeps to purple hearts, namely Cliff. I like him but I prefer Ran
Got Ran to a yellow heart. Going to get the yellow heart event next time I see her. Also gave her the relationship flower

saw that you need to rotate your animals though to improve quality of your goods?

ended up buying FOMT after tying to play AWL on dolphin on my pc, but i just wasn't feeling it. now i got a game to play on the couch during football all season

Yeah. It's not as bad as it sounds. For chickens it's extremely easy. You just need to constantly sell your old chickens and replace them with new ones until they're at max hearts. It doesn't matter which egg you use to incubate as well, but I still recommend using the highest quality egg (good over regular). With the barnyard animals it's the same thing, but it takes longer. I also recommend taking care of your animals first thing in the morning and then let them out all day. They automatically go back inside at 8PM.

A few more suggestions.

Get chickens ASAP and give the Harvest Goddess an egg every day for 300 days. After 30 days of gifts you unlock Van who sells pets once a month.
Get cucumbers in the Spring and give an offering to Kappa once a day for 10 days. You get a power berry.
When you get 4 chickens start giving Carter an egg every day as well until he gets 8-10 notes. He unlocks the back door of the church in Autumn with enough friendship.
Give Gotts a single piece of lumber every day until he's at max notes. IIRC his shop stays open later when you do that.
Fishing is actually decent money when you're first starting.
Save scum all the way to floor 8 in the mines and start mining to floor 10+. Great way to get all the minerals you'll need to upgrade your tools
Gift Huang 8~ or so pieces of gold.
Give some milk to Cliff and some boiled eggs to Duke / Manna. Speak to them (and Carter) a few times in the Autumn before Autumn 14. On that day you can offer Cliff a job at the winery and he'll choose to stay instead of leaving for a year.

Farming/ marriage sims and turn based RPGs are my favorite genre of games. I hope to start working on my own game next year, and I'm wanting to make my own farming sim.

Idk if it's been said but Stardew Valley is better than every Harvest Moon game.

Also, I like the original Harvest Moon the best. Just has a charm to it.

oh, damn. i'm already into summer now. i went hard and played like all day satruday w/o checking in here. i accidentally caught kappa in the lake there, did not think anything of it. guess i'll have to offer cucumbers in year 2.

I always save scum the weather.

1. Save before you go to bed E.G. on the 10th.
2. Check the weather for the day after you wake up on the TV E.G. check the weather for the 12th.
3. If its not what you want reload your save and try again.

Not sure. @spikethedevil may know this. I've only gotten to floor 10 and I got enough minerals to max every weapon out.

Nope. I do that now as well. Autumn gives tons of flowers so I'm stocked up.

But you'll end up saving a bunch of progress. You have to do it in the Winter as well, although it may not be as bad due to not being able to grow crops in the Winter.

I proposed to Ran! We're getting married Winter 10.

IIRC there is elevators after befriending the Harvest Goddess enough.

i'm also kinda a stardew hater but i saw some stream of a girl playing with like almost a metropolis looking place. not sure if it was mods or what but damn, it made harvest moon look like a simplistic idle game...

i still havent played stardew like that but i now realize the potential for it is way more than you'll get from an old harvest moon.

just so happened the first time i saved before bed the next day's weather was calling for a storm, so i noped out of there. two days later it happened again.

so thank you, for saving me mulitple days. it fucking storms hard in this valley in summer.

how do you handle the social aspect of the game? i feel like these are always tedious to me. i been working on jennifer because i bump into her the most throughout my play style. i just feel like there is not near enough time in the day to water crops and tend animals and find the people you wanna socialize. just walking across the town takes half the day.

Have the Nature Sprites water your grass for you. It will save you so much time.

Trying to get Adamantite in the winter mine. Can't seem to find any. They're after floor 10, right? I upgraded my barn and want to create the makers. What do diamonds do? I've gotten a few of those.

Diamonds are for jewellery and yeah after floor 10 for adamantite but it is rare iirc.

I feel so dumb because I was in the winter mine and not the spring one. Luckily I needed to get the power berry on floor 19 anyway.

They're life savers. There are so many crops in the Autumn and I could not water them all by myself.

I will try getting that when I'm in year 2. For now I haven't explored the mines much.

last few days of spring. bought me shit ton of green peppers to kick off fall once i get there. starting to make money on recurring summer crops, cow is preggers, got three chickens, alpaca and rabbit. just got the fridge and started buying some kitchen items. almost all of the spirits are watering my crops now. i picked one to harvest, and they just disappear. it going in my shipping bin?

cheated my way down to floor 10 of hte mine and got some good items. is there another cave i need to find in winter or something? hah

Yeah there is a winter mine.

Played a bunch and got to Spring 17. On Spring 10 was the 30 day anniversary of my marriage to Ran so I found out she's pregnant. Not sure what the gender will be as I said I will be happy either way, but I'm hoping for a boy. There's only one child in this game, correct? I think in Animal Parade you could have two. On Spring 15 I got my first pet. I got the Bengal cat and named him after my real cat.

My second cow got pregnant so I now have three cows. My second sheep is still pregnant but I think she has like nine days until she gives birth. I have an alpaca so after her wool grows back I'll be getting her pregnant next.

My chickens are doing good. I have all four bred to be able to get ten hearts so now I'm just waiting. I decided to sell my chicken that won the festival because she only had six hearts and couldn't get any more. Ever since winning I didn't get a single golden egg so it's no big loss.

My horse is at max hearts. Tomorrow is the spring derby so he'll be racing. I ride him a lot and take him everywhere I go so I'm thinking I can win.

I have a TON of spring crops growing. Got three nature sprites watering them and one harvesting them all. I have to help them a bit with watering because they don't always finish but they're doing a great job.

Have all my tools to mythril except for fishing pole which will soon have enough experiene for gold.

As for everyone else: since I have a horse now I'm not wasting as much time walking around. I'm able to give more gifts to people so I've been giving lots of eggs, grapes, honey and milk.

I'm down to only 9,000 gold. After buying all my crops and buying a cat + disc, and upgrading my bag, I'm low on funds. I haven't sold my cabbage yet though so I'll have more soon.
