Was watching a clip of Kusnher being interviewed by a British journalist and he claimed Donald had the toppest of top secret clearance in the world

This made me remember a scene In Independence Day where the president laughs about area 51 not being real. And then a government official says

"Um..well....actually it uh.....it does exist"

Do you think presidents are only made to think they have all the info, and really some stuff is kept even from them?

The president doesn't need security clearance. He can classify or declassify anything aside from stuff specifically excluded by law. If he wants to know, he can find out.

And there are people who work there for decades who get all that top secret info and write up those reports who brief multiple presidents, those people would know more than any person who only has clearance for 4 or 8 years.

There might be people who know things the president doesn't, but the president still has the highest clearance.

I would have thought so, but some Googling suggests they don't hold a formal clearance as such; though they do have higher power of access to such information than any formal clearance gives simply because they're the President. By extension though, this only applies while they're the President.
