I played Prime 2 all the way through.
I started 1 but couldn't get into it. It was a long time ago and I haven't played many Metroidvanias so it felt less like being encouraged to explore and more like being told to guess.

Still need to finish Dread.

Played Prime for about half an hour over a decade ago but I doubt I'll ever really play it unless they drop it on Switch.

Which it is, despite not being great, being made by a non-Nintendo company, and a game where you don't play as Mario.

Your personal feelings on FF aside, it is most definitely a Metroid game, titled and all.

You should also play the original, but using a map/guide is fair game imo.

Prime 3 took a weird, decidedly more casual direction (beams upgrading instead of being swappable, mechanic that shows you were every item is, and some other weird QoL stuff)
