That might be part of it lol. Also Miles actually seems like a normal guy, whereas Peter is kind of a dumpster fire.

I liked Miles' characterization in Spider-Verse. He was like teen Peter all over again, just different hurdles.

as a teen i liked ultimate spiderman and was sad when peter got replaced by miles. that said it was mainly because peter had like a harem between mj, kitty pryde, gwen stacy, and black cat (briefly before she found out peter was a teenager LOL) which fulfilled my teenage fantasies. nowdays id prob prefer miles morales

ya i think so but havent really been following it. i know that it turns out ultimate peter was alive the whole time but in some hibernation state after being revived or something lmao. he and mj are doing their own thing now

Peter Parker for a time also had Night Vision and little stinger claws that popped out of his wrists. Idk if those were ever properly retconned out or if they were just quietly forgotten. Almost nobody seemed to like The Other. >___>

just going off memory but pretty sure this is pretty accurate

Peter Parker was killed by hobgoblin while he was still recovering from a gunshot wound ( he took a bullet to save captain america).
Prior to being killed he went up to the ultimates (the avengers of the ultimate universe [thor,hulk, captain america, etc..]) after saving captain america to ask for help against hobgoblin but they basically told him to fuck off because they were busy or something lol.

oh fuck i might be wrong about peter asking the ultimates for help. he did take a bullet for captain america tho prior to his death. i need to reread the series to get clearer picture tho

tbh, I'm only familiar with Miles from Into the Spider-Verse and the PlayStation game, and I like his character in both.

but I also really like Peter in both, as well (including SM 2018).

2 different universes. The death of Peter were talking about happened in the Ultimate universe. It was a version of Marvel made in the 2000s as a modern retelling of all the classic marvel events of the past. So like Spider-Man had his origin story but it took place in the 2000s instead of the 60s

The spoiler you mention happened in original marvel. The main universe.

The only good versions of Miles is Into the Spider-Verse and the PlayStation games. Unfortunately, hes an incredibly boring character in the comics who barely has his own villains. Despite having more powers than Parker to use, his fighting style isnt nearly as engaging. While Parker will often use his intelligence to beat his enemies, Miles tends to rely heavily on his Venom Strike ability to win. Also, its really annoying on how they gave another black character electricity based powers.

So it was definitely sinister six that did him in? And was the idea the same as the movie that he passes the mantle onto miles Spiderman or is the death of one and introduction of the other separate events?

I like him in the video games a lot. Looking forward to the Spider-Man (Men?) 2 game.

And he's probably more relatable because Peter is some kind of super genius wheras Miles is smart enough, but not to a cartoon level like Peter. More of a normal guy.

Wait do marvel do that whole dc thing of brand new universe every few years like new 52 and Flashpoint and final crisis and rebirth, or is it the same characters this whole time.

I think the Miles in the comics is the same one from the Ultimate universe. Marvel has never done a complete reboot like DC
