Since the beginning of time I always thought you had to crouch-fly to make it through that hole to beat the level via using keyhole. Turns out what you're actually supposed to do is use the p-block and with the coin block that you control with the d-pad to make a path/staircase up to the exit. FML so much. --- Don't like it? I would randomly do it just because, and then after a while, I noticed that it seems to always give me the green mushrooms so I suspected it was the case.. Tried it on an emulator recently, and it didn't work so I thought maybe I just somehow got lucky those 100s of times as a kid lol.
