If you claim to use money for food but you blow it all on cigarettes instead, it implies that you are intentionally fraiuding people for money that could've gone to the actual homeless. So while no one realistically should bitch about what you do with donated money, they will bitch because they think you are cheating them.

I don't give a fuck what they do with the money. They can spend it on whatever. They're human beings, they need more than just the necessities. Sometimes the extra is enough to give them comfort or keep them sane or let them escape their situation even if it's for a tiny moment.

I go after anyone who is faking homeless or disability for begging purposes. I'm saying that a homeless person asking for money, but blows it on other things could easily be judged as someone faking being homeless for fraud purposes. Going out smoking with the money is extra icing on the cake.

Because I have way more important concerns than "did the 1 dollar I just put in this guys cop actually get spent on something worthwhile or not" When I spend a dollar at a store I don't stand around asking them when they are going to go deposit it in the bank and ask them to show me where they dollar will be spent. Sometimes it will go to paying an employee, sometimes it will go to the boss to buy coke and hookers.

It's wild that you're going on about homeless people but drug addicts who ask their family for money for bullshit and end up spending it on drugs.

Or the government who says this money is for X but spends on on something totally different.

I've always been of the mindset that they are obviously rock bottom, if they wanna get drunk and have a decent night of sleep in the winter with my money, that's fine. Their life sucks, their existence is a struggle and finding ways to cope comes in all forms. It's not my place to tell them what to and not to buy

i don't care. let's say there's one thing we don't want them to buy, drugs, and one thing we do, food. the way i see it, even if my donation goes straight to drugs, they'll get to a point where they can save money for food more quickly with my donation than without.

like if you feel obligated to lie to me to get some bullshit comfort like cigarettes i think it puts me in my place and humbles me for my luck. i think being any point above paycheck to paycheck is somewhat of a luxury.

i don't think i'm many fuck-ups away from being on the street. it must be nice to check that box.

i look at my finances as 'how many years from street.' and ~lmao medical emergency~ is kind of a dice in there i hope to never throw. it's real fuckin easy to judge is my point.
