Tbf, Fallout 4's intro is pretty damn short. Although in this case it works against it, since you aren't given much time to form any attachment to Shaun (nor your spouse for that matter).

An easy workaround I've always used is saving right when you leave the vaults in 3 and 4. It will give you the last chance to change whatever.

Yeah I think 3 and 4 are way better than New Vegas on the whole but it's crazy that developers don't realize long intro sequences are terrible for replaying.

There's a reason why 99% of reviews and YouTube videos of GTA5 and RDR2 start from 7 hours in
