10k isn't enough

Tbh, hearing my debt go from 47k to 37k ain't really that uplifting. It's nice, but even 20k would have made me happy.

Now, 10k would have made me happy if my college didn't completely rip me off, so that's where my real anger lies.

$10,000 is literally exactly what he campaigned on 2 years ago.

When the alternative is.... the GOP.... my vote is "worth" even less then that, because no way in any blue fuck imaginable will I ever be stupid enough to vote for a fucking republican right now.

Over half of all student loan borrowers will either see their loans completely forgiven or cut in half. And this, which will cost 400 billion, is the bare minimum?

The administration has spent 25 billion in clearing the loans of those impacted by predatory colleges such as ITT and Devry. And this is the bare minimum?

And yes, 10k is all you should have expected out of Biden. Anything more would have come from someone else that was more left, but he still comes from that old-school mentality that actions have consequences, so he's not going to let us get a student loan for free.

I don't think he realizes that people have lower income than him, and don't have tons of money left over after expenses to pay off debt.

Not at all. Anyone with a job can pay off a $10k loan. If a legit loan repayment was on the line then I could almost understand. Then again, were still living in a time with bat shit crazy Republican politicians so just like in 2020 Im going to vote for the better alternative which will be Biden since I dont want to split the vote in Republican favor.

Or maybe I have been in that exact situation as a college grad. I made 35k right out of school with a 35k student loan bill. I had no choice but to enroll in income-based payments. I was fortunate enough to find better job opportunities, but I know a lot of people aren't.

I know people wanted more but 10K debt reduction is several years worth of payments for many.

i was paying $300 a month on mine and $10,000 is nearly 3 years of payments.

I can understand people wanted more. I cannot understand those who say this isn't going to help anybody.

To make it even more sad I got a LOT of my loans waived because on some my dad was the only person on it, so when he died....

I loved my dad, but as a joke, all I can say is "thanks Pop, for having my back beyond this Earth"
