this is the most fun I've had using a boomerang in the Zelda series, that's for sure

Oh this is the original version that's on the game&watch, not the color DX or 3D remake so I don't know if they're different or not

It's the same in DX, it's still the strongest weapon in the Switch version but it can't KO the final boss in one hit anymore

Yeah, Switch really did the boomerang dirty. At least it doesn't cost a whole-ass item anymore. One more small thing is that item pickup isn't immediate. If you want that 5 rupee, you have to wait for it to come back. And with its extra weird hover sometimes...

Sheesh at first I wished they had used the color version for the game&watch but now, with how weird and dreamlike everything in the game is (after all the whole game is literally Link's dream anyway) I almost feel like the monochrome color "fits" it really well in a weird way. The Switch remake looks great but I feel like it would be missing the same "vibe" but several months down the road I intend to give the Switch version a play through, after forgetting a bunch of the finer details of the game course
