Suprak_the_Stud 08/15/22 8:01:10 PM #55:	What's interesting is characters who've won over the last few years, like Joe (Soul), Killmonger (Black Panther), Edelgard (Fire Emblem) are all really solid characters, but I can't help but wonder if they'll actually having the staying power of characters like GLaDOS and Nathan Drake a decade from now. Wow, these are some pretty bad winners for a "best new character". I actually think I voted for Joe, too, but looking back there has to be something from that year better than the lead from Soul which has already faded from the public consciousness. This contest is interesting since you're doing stuff IMMEDIATELY after the year ended and also this, which is 15 years past. Completely different type of results. I'm almost positive I'd have instant voted GLaDOS if this poll was run at the start of 08. The benefit that Drake has is he has continued to evolve and develop after that year through five games and a movie and whatever other spin offs out there exist so I'm actually not sure who to vote for here because it is a significantly more interesting match than if I was voting just based on what these two did in 07.
