Or the fact that even when he should have won states in the primaries, she got several early on because of back door bullshit ignoring what voters wanted.

Instead some are choosing "he's sexist because he's an old jew from brooklyn and we all know that type." Yall are gross.

Hard to make political coalitions when you're taking on literally every big $$$ special interest at once. Only amateurs and grassroots people will work with a career burner campaign like that.

You think the private health insurance and oil pacs funding other candidates will allow them to align with Bernie? Until more grassroot progressives get elected, he's limited to AOC and the squad backing him.

Nah it's more likely because Bernie is sexist. AOC secretly hates women too.

Ignoring that I haven't heard any actual research that supports the Bernie to Trump ratio being significant enough to swing anything, I can't see how any sort of rationalization like this makes it not the politician's fault that they didn't manage make enough people interested enough to cast their vote for them.

Analysis[edit]
In an interview with Vox, Schaffner highlighted the fact that Sanders-Trump voters were much less likely to identify as Democrats than Sanders voters who voted for Clinton or a third-party candidate.[2] According to Schaffner, about half of the voting bloc identified themselves as Republicans or independents.[4] Data from the VOTER survey showed that only 35% of Sanders-Trump voters voted for Democratic incumbent Barack Obama in the 2012 election; in contrast, 95% of Sanders-Clinton voters voted for Obama in 2012.[1]

This suggests that Sanders supporters who voted for Trump in the general had largely reached across the aisle in support of Sanders and didn't have allegiance to the Democratic party platform and their votes were never secured for the party with any other candidate.

Hardly seems reasonable to say that someone going "well I was going to vote Republican, but if they go with Sanders I might change my mind" was a stolen democratic party vote when they chose to not go with Sanders.

The lowest number for Hillary supporters switching to McCain came from your CNN exit polling source:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/04/exit.polls/
15% of Clinton supporters voted for McCain.

An often cited Duke University study finds that 25% of Clinton supporters voted for McCain. Just under 70% of Clinton voters came out for Obama.
https://sites.duke.edu/hillygus/files/2014/06/hendersonhillygustompsonPOQ.pdf

It's generally agreed upon across any sources that 8-12% of Sanders supporters voted for Trump. Here's a source for the highest number of Sanders to Trump voters with the least favorable analysis. (wapo say 8%)
https://www.npr.org/2017/08/24/545812242/1-in-10-sanders-primary-voters-ended-up-supporting-trump-survey-finds

Studies also find that many of the Sanders-Trump voters did not identify as Democrats and were new people he brought into the party. Hillary-McCain voters were just spiteful.
