i have had android phones in the past and i dont really get why someone would pick one over an iphone, they kind of suck on a basic level

Yep. They could open up the API for cross platform functionality, but refuse to do so. They are stoking the us versus them exclusionary mentality. I believe it was actually brought up during an earnings call.

Those are some of the examples. Like I said. Both phones have their issues. But it is flat out false if you think most of the shit talking is done by Android users.

There was no way to know that prior to post #7 (which again, was in response to post #6 from an Android user). The only thing that was posted was a fact about the percentage of iPhones users. The fact that many Android users see this as an attack is telling.

Plus I already called out the OPs shit talking.

And it still doesnt invalidate the general trend I see of Android users never missing an opportunity (usually unprovoked) to let everyone else know how superior their phone is because reasons.

It doesnt. Most apps are developed for iOS first, and iOS is more polished and optimised than android so it just feels more premium. Stuff runs faster despite lower specs on paper for that reason as well. With android you get emulation, sideloading, and the gimmick known as custom roms. Sideloading is nice but its just a phone at the end of the day. Most people just want a web browser, spotify and Netflix which iOS does. People also say android has more customisation, but iOS has common sense settings by default out of the box and works just fine anyway. The people that hype up android hardware always forget software matters just as much if not more

If you're buying new, iPhones make more financial sense because they depreciate less is 3 years than Android does in 3 months. Just sell the old phone for the new one every year and the upgrade is p much free.

They couldn't easily. The main things I hear about from iOS users are, "You get too many viruses on Androids..." "Most of the celebrities have iPhones..." or "It's easier to use an iPhone."

I've had fun tinkering with Android custom ROMs and all that in the past, but when it comes to what I actually do on my phone there's not really much of anything that I'd want to do that I can't do on an iPhone that I could do on Android. Overall though I think I would be fine using either one as my daily driver phone.

But the one thing I haven't seen any Android manufacturer get close to Apple is a cohesive ecosystem. My iPhone, Apple Watch, Powerbeats Pros, and Macbook all practically act as extensions of each other.

Most of the reason why I've always been an Android user is because of its ecosystem closely resembling a PC. I can integrate my phone to the PC and it acts as external storage. Makes it easy to transfer shit. I prefer to keep my data local, not on a cloud somewhere.

That cohesive ecosystem isn't a good thing to everyone

i went from samsung to iphone to samsung now back to iphone

yes android is more open but on a day to day useage all i do is text my wife, browse the web and reddit.

Phones are worthless for anything other than making phone calls. Everything else it can do is done better on another device like a laptop, PC, TV, etc.

In fact, ever since I found you can link your phone to your computer I never look at my phone except to answer phone calls when I'm not at my desk.

I think they are only popular with teenagers because they can't afford better and don't have their own space for a TV or computer.

I have an iphone 6s that has worked flawlessly since I got it over 5 years ago. I have it paired with my hearing aids so that I get phone calls and sound (music etc) from the phone directly to my hearing aids. (biggest qol feature in my life ever)

Android at the time had the same functionality, except, you needed a dongle (or whatever you'd call it) that would attach to your shirt to sync the hearing aids with the phone. It was cheap, like 40 bucks, but very inconvenient (I bet lots of folks inadvertently washed it)

So I picked Apple for the massive QoL feature.
