I want to go somewhere this week for a night or two? I go. I want to eat take out, I order it. I want to stay up late, I do it. Sleep late, I do it. I do chores when I feel like it. The only standards are mine. That whole man in under pants follows duck is pretty accurate. I like it. I've been in a handful of serious relationships. I've turned more than that down. I sometimes get lonely, but I end up preferring my independence more. I used to feel like I would trade my ordered life into a compromise to be with someone else. However, around 4 years ago I was seriously dating somebody I really cared about. I was about ready to have her move in and we had discussed marriage and kids more than once. I just felt a tug inside I wasn't ready and I ended things then. I really have leaned into solo life since because I don't want to hurt somebody like I did then again.
