if youre a couple hours in and youre really clicking with the person doesnt seem that weird to say hey I think I really like you Im willing to give this a shot

maybe being upfront about is its whats unusual; Ive certainly been on first dates where I had that *thought* during/after the first date, just didnt verbalize it

yeah, first date is not what i consider to be dating. i guess i more think after we have seen each other a few times and obviously intend to keep doing so. i have no going on dates with multiple people at one time period, but to be dating multiple people seems much less attractive for me, assuming that dating means some continued involvement

It's so weird to me. Like you meet someone once. Maybe you hit it off and you just want to fully commit to them.

You dont know them at all outside of that day. Get to know them first. If its a true connection you kinda start being interested in them only anyways. At least for me its like that.

But that isn't quite what this this thread is. I generally only truly date one woman at a time (with a couple huge exceptions where I was dating 3 for a bit), but you might have multiple first or second dates before focusing on one, right?

This but I also wouldn't date someone I hadn't known for a while and befriended first so I expect that level of commitment/interest from the getgo, my boyfriend and I were friends for a year before he finally asked me out and it's been super smooth sailing since. I think the concept of dating a random person you just met on a site/social outing isn't a very good way of finding your life partner. Getting to know them first and then letting things blossom naturally from there seems to lead to much more successful and happier relationships than trying your luck just for the sake of being in a relationship, but that's just me though.

While I understand that this worked for you, and is also the situation with my current gf, it is simply too limiting for most people. People meet random people all the time and have successful relationships. The thing is that it is a massive numbers game with random people, which is why dating around is just fine until a commitment is reached.
