Remember playing that with my brother many years back, one of his favourite games I think. Disgaea, The Suffering, Second Sight and Fahrenheit were his big ones back then.

Fatal Frame (Specifically 2,3 and 5)

Silent Hill (Specifically 3 and Downpour (Downpour has some of the best side mission lore in any game i have ever played))

Resident Evil (REmake 1, OG RE2 and REmake 2, Revelations 2)

Them and Us (A modern RE like game)

Corpse Party Book of Shadows (great scares in that one. Both Jump and the kind you notice after staring at something for long enough) has a great companion Anime too

Phasmophobia (best co op horror game out there IMO)

Cry of Fear (good lore and cheap scares that dont wear out their welcome. also totally free to play on steam)

Yume Nikki (its love it or hate it. I love it)

Kuon (kinda hard to find, but if you do play it, its a blast)

Tormented souls was excellent! The demo for them and us is great too (haven't played full)

I never see anyone bring these games up, as a huge horror fan it's nice to see. Every RE fan should have their eyes on these 2.

Have you checked out Alisa? The demo seemed pretty good too

Disgaea is an incredible franchise. My love it came from my brother playing the original back on the PS1. "Dood" was a staple of our vocab when addressing one another after that lol.

The only one I haven't played much of, is D4. I'll get around to it eventually.

I've heard mixed things about D6 from people that adore the franchise more than I, so I'm holding off. It launched at an awkward price point on Steam for me and I think that could / may be a reflection of how poorly NIS are doing financially, maybe, I'm not sure.

Murder house looks excellent. Another one for the wishlist, ugh lol.

My only issue with Tormented Souls is that I wish it had some unlockables for subsequent playthroughs.

Also it's really short, but Nightmare of Decay is great too (only about 2 hours long) but it at least has a random generated dungeon mode and survival modes. Meant to be replayed too

Yeah with D6 they priced it waaaaaay too high.

That and the game is kinda lacking IMO.

Not only is it missing some core series characters that were always DLC (No Priere? WTF?) The DLC characters are just the MCs of previous games and some hololive skins.

Disgaea 5 is the best in the series IMO. A huge cast of characters and that tight gameplay ive come to love.

Another misstep 6 makes is with the number porn. You can now do bigger numbers than ever before! But it is kinda meaningless because it is all inflated. In every other game, you start off dealing pitiful numbers and it snowballs as you level up and get better gear and stats and evilities and all that. But you gotta work you way to all that.

With 6, you are dealing 4 digit damage almost off the bat, and it just jumps from there to some crazy degree. Its like falling into the deep end of the pool right away. It just feels cheap.

Oof, that doesn't sound too great. Bit of a shame.

Disgaea 5 I would agree is the best in the series at this point absolutely.

I'll pick up Disgaea 4 Complete down the line at some point. I had a PS3 for a very brief period during that generation and couldn't get ahold of it for some reason so I stopped bothering.

How's blistr been travelling since he last wreaked havoc with the blacksmith's apprentice?

He's got the most kills and the longest tenure of any man in the company.

Sword and shield combo is doing wonders lol. I'm going to be gutted when he eventually perishes and the way this game is, he's definitely going to.

I'm not sure if need to start a new seed for the dlc you gifted, but if I don't, I'd probably laugh a little if he met his demise at one of the new beasts haha.

To help move this along, anyone who has experience with RE Village, how's the replayability? I'm guessing I'm nearing the end (at the stronghold ) now so I'm starting to think about repeat playthroughs. Are there any unlockables (unique weapons, infinite ammo, new difficulties, etc)?

I havent played it yet. But supposedly pretty soon theyre adding in a third person mode and the DLC at the same time(?) I dunno if theres other new content with the 3rd person addition, maybe.
Im waiting for that before I play :)

@ProboBum I believe you were shot by poachers. I sent Darth and Blistr, to deal with them but AP prevented them from getting there in time and two shots in succession death with you pretty swiftly lol.

Aye, that's all I have available right now lol. I would look into mods for that but I want to wait until I have all DLC so I don't run into any I can't use because dlc required / compatability issues.

Edit - I just had a look and a few that I'd use require all DLCs so yeah, gonna have to hold off on modding it for a little bit.

Yes! Village was quite addictive with the unlocks. Remake 3 has a great replay ability system in place too.

RE has made such a huge comeback, I love it. Just wish we could buy the originals on pc
