We've all heard phrases like the following:

"No animal has ever hurt me."

"It's like... animals just understand me!"

"My pets are better than most humans I know."

These are cries for help. People need to treat their emotional baggage in a healthy way. If you or somebody you know talks like this, it's time to start investigating why.

That's my cat. She's addicted to me. She gets sad and anxious when I'm not around. When she has lost sight of me in the house, she calls for me. Once I've said a sound, she immediately rushes to meet me. She always follows me around. She spends the majority of her life in close proximity to me. She's sleeping on my lap right now.

Not true. If you treat your dog like shit, it won't love you. In other words, love is conditionnal. A racist or sexist dog may also hate you no matter what because of your race or sex. My mother's bitch hates me even though I've never been bad to her. She hates all men. She was tortured in Spain by men where animal rights are nonexistent. She still has scars from the knife wounds she received.

One of my sister's many bitches (she doesn't currently own a male dog) is racist toward Spanish breeds because she was forced to live with thousands of other dogs in a concentration camp in Spain. She's basically racist toward her own race. She's intolerant of the other Spanish bitches in her new home, but she doesn't mind the Australian Shepherd and the Chihuahua. If a Spanish dog approaches her food or gets too close to her while she's trying to sleep, she growls. If it's a non Spanish breed, she doesn't care.

Here's a reminder that in Fallout 4, one of your companions is your maid robot that's gone crazy after spending 210 years cleaning the same broken radioactive house and will judge your worth as a human being based on how often you often you take drugs versus how often you slap a scope on a pipe pistol.

Then the other companion is an actual dog, who still stare lovingly into your eyes after you beat him upside the head with a pipe wrench for the 50th time.

You literally only need to feed a dog for it to love you. It's much harder to get a human to love you the same way a dog does.

I've fed my mother's bitch on more than one occasion and she still hates me. My mother and sister never fed my cat. Despite this, she still loves them (obviously not as much as me). I've never fed my sister's bitches and some of them still love me (the others are indifferent). Heck, my sister used to have a dog (yay, male) who loved me at first sight and I was pretty open about how much I hated him. She got rid of him because he was dangerous for kids (unpredictable and prone to biting due to trauma) and she was planning on being a mother. The dog was sexist but in the form of positive discrimination. He prefers men for some reason. Luckily for him, he was readopted by a gay couple.

I never said I love them as family and friends. Who tf said that? You can love something as one would love the taste of food. I love animals in the same way I love my dog. Their existence, in most cases, brings me joy. I love animal meat as a taste. I love dogs on the street that let me pet them, same with cats. I love my own animals.

It's not bad logic, it's pointing out inconsistency in a person's sense of morality. The dog brings you happiness but does not have to suffer or feel pain to do so, while the animals you eat were bred into existence and forced to suffer and die in order to be useful to you. That's textbook arrogance.

Okay, but have you ever hated an animal?
Not really, but I used to fear certain ones because my own lack of wisdom, knowledge and experience with them created negative feelings of animosity, and thus I projected my insecurities onto them.

Takes bees for example. Bees used to make me extremely uncomfortable if they fly by me, and I'd flail my arms around in order to avoid them. I was mowing grass once outside my house and accidentally went a bit too close to their hive, so they swarmed and attacked me, and I hated bees for many years. Because of that, I used to think "bees are bad because they will sting me", but in reality that's not true at all. They are super important for their role to the world in pollinating plants. They couldn't give a single care in the world about you, unless you do something to provoke them. Now I understand bees and I'm not afraid of them, and love them for what they do and respect their role and their intelligence and autonomy. If I see or hear a bee, I don't get startled or surprised anymore.

You're a very good person, and I don't doubt that for a single minute. I applaud your selflessness and ambition to do good for others, and I wish more people were like you. But your actions don't 100% fully align with your morals, views and thoughts. Whether you are aware of it or not, however, you still happen to be contributing to the exploitation and suffering of beings, that is wholly unnecessary in the civilized and technologically capable society that we live in today. Somewhere deep in your brain, you still have the imaginary barricade set up that was elaborately placed there as you grew up, the one that separates the animal kingdom into two distinct groups: ones that are more important, and ones that are less important.

They don't provide you with that sustenance, though. They are non consenting beings that are forced into their position. They didn't choose to be where they are. They don't willingly give up their life for you. You have to artificially impregnate them and/or take their life in order to get what you want, or by virtue of supply and demand, you have to pay someone else to do it for you. There's an aggressor and a victim, and that's called exploitation, and it's cruel and unnecessary.

What I think youre trying to say is that there are different categories for the term animal lover. Youre saying I dont fall under the 100% true animal lover category because Im not a vegetarian? What am I a 99% animal lover?

Stuff like this can be said about a lot of things. 100% true this, 100% true that.
