I can't defend current WWE since it's so boring I am legitimately more enterained by reading the instructions of how to microwave a pasta dinner.

But Pro wrestling is great. It's like the best parts of combat sports/movies mixed in with fun drama and showmanship.

By the time he got to hospital, it was 22% and then 12% before surgery as he was experiencing heart failure. "I was at the 1-yard line of where you don't want to be."
• He thought it was over, wondered if he'd wake up from the procedures. Got really choked up thinking about his daughters. "That's tough to swallow. It makes you think differently about life. It doesn't make you any less driven for the things that you do, but it certainly makes you appreciate the things that you have more."
• He's retired from in-ring competition: "I'm done. I will never wrestle again."
• Triple H has a defibrillator in his chest and is still recovering.

I did when I was 11-13 and all my classmates where neck deep into it. I hated every part of it. The bad acting and stupid """plots""" made me cringe even at that age. I also still to this day don't understand if the viewer is supposed to believe it's all real and spontaneous since some people, including some wrestlers, get really fucking triggered when someone says it's fake. It is. It's fake. Evidently so.

Given what happened to him, I'm thankful he's retiring. I don't ever want to see him wrestle again for his health.

I still can't believe there are actual people who think it's real. I wonder how they rectify those memorial events when a wrestler dies unexpectedly and even the heels come to sincerely pay their respects to a friend.

Vince is still in a "regional" mentality, despite ruining all the other territories decades ago, and having seven or eight hours of TV time a week.
That's why it's the same fucking matches every fucking week, until someone leaves or gets hurt. You could get away with that in the "highschool gymnasium" era, but it doesn't work now.

Yeah exactly. A big problem is how overexposed wrestling is these days. So many hours of wrestling on all the time and even more when you add those from the competition. LIke even back in the early-mid 90s most stuff that came on TV were jobber squash showcases so when you saw something even like just a random Bret Hart vs Jeff Jarrett on Raw or something it felt meaningful. Now they have the exact same matches week after week and want people to care. I haven't watched in years and not planning on it anytime soon.

Yeah, if you go back and watch a RAW or Nitro from the prime era you would see 8-10 matches. Now you might see 4 in a 2 hour program. Some were jobber matches but some were just some good midcard matches.

Every tag match in WWE is pretty much the same thing spot for spot every night. But in fairness AEW isn't much better here.
