TAIPEI (Taiwan News) Four Chinese students and one Indian student were among 13 reportedly killed by heavy shelling of a college dorm in Kharkiv by Russian forces on Thursday (March 3).
Ukrainian media outlet Obozrevatel reported that on Thursday evening Russian forces had fired on a dormitory at the Kharkov State Academy of Culture. An estimated 13 students were killed in the attack.
The news agency cited the Kharkiv Regional Civil-Military Administration as stating that among the dead are four Chinese students and one Indian student. Two of the Chinese victims have been identified as Jin Tianhao and Li Zhi.
Two Ukrainian students who perished were identified as Oleg Teplovy and Yegor Lundik. The deceased Indian student has been identified as Navin Shekharapa Gyanagudar, who had been attending Kharkiv National Medical University.
Six more students sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity and are in hospitals in the Kharkiv region. The exact number of dead and wounded from the attack is still being assessed.

I hate to say it but i dont believe Putin is stupid. Hes playing some sort of 5D chess and maybe his ultimate outcome is total destruction. I dont know, I'm pretty freaked out though. Shelling the nuclear plant yesterday was really bad.

If China knew the Russian invasion was coming odd they didnt evacuate their citizens early.

What will China say to this? If they get on board the rest of the world could get in.

I dunno, pissing of the only country of any real significance that even comes close to supporting you seems like a really dumb move, no matter how many Ds you are playing in.

Hopefully none. It's obviously a smoke screen. Russia thanks that what works on their population will work on a global level. To be fair, it largely has.

China seemed willing to play along with that but China also had no real dog in the fight either (though using this to gauge how the world would react to a potential invasion of Taiwan was certainly something they wanted to know)

Innocent Chinese civilians dying will change Beijing's opinion fast.

China: I have concerns.

If I was China, I would just watch on the sidelines as Russia's economy tanks, and once they're destitute and desperate, buy their natural resources for pennies.

If, as a state, Russia collapses and nothing immediate pops up in its place, I could see a rush between the West and China to divide Russian territory.

Come to think of it, Putin could retreat into a bunker, order the nukes to fly, and his generals, instead of complying, could simply feed him a lie that the world was nuked.

Not to test our luck a second time, but I'm sure this was a very valid concern with the collapse of the Soviet Union. <_<

People are thinking that Putin dies with Russia, and vice versa. They still have a fully stocked legislative assembly. The only thing the world wants is stability in that region. Remove Putin, get somebody else installed, and Russia survives with a watchful eye from the west.

Germany is still around, and what they did was a million times worse than what Russia is doing. Deny a people their agency and heritage, and you give them a reason to rebel. That's why Ukraine is fighting right now. There will be no Ukraine underneath a Russian rule.
