C

People still need proper protein. Eggs and milk and stuff are fine. With occasional seafood.

Vegan food is gross. No cheese or eggs lol.

it's about as good as the normal processed cheese shreds you get at the grocery store. not as good as real cheese from a deli though.

Not particularly. My brother is vegan and has had no shortage of cheese to have me try and the best ones haven't so much been "good" as "not as bad as American cheese." The worst ones I legit felt like I was going to throw up. I'm sure that there are some out there that are good, but it definitely feels like it would end up being the exception overall.

Plant based proteins that you need a supplements for.

Ready? The milk industry is probably the least abusive animal food industry lol. Most of those cows are happy.

Seitan, beans, nuts, legumes, buckwheat, quinoa, soy protein, chia seeds, etc

You carnists always go after protein but it's literally the easiest thing to find

And being raped and having their babies taken away isn't exact happy but OK

d

vegetarianism is morally inferior.

vegetarianism pays for cows to be raped and chicken to get massacred in a conveyer belt. most people are lactose intolerant so millions of families are abusing kids by forcing vegetarianism down their throat. It's simply the most morally inferior lifestyle all around.

The fuck? Dogs are separated from their mothers to go to loving homes where they form strong bonds with their human connections. Calfs are separated from their mothers to either be slaughtered (male calfs that can't milk) or be repeatedly raped, have their babies taken away, and then slaughtered once they can no longer milk (female calfs).

dairy milk tastes like metal anyway. Drink soy milk instead. Better for the environment.

Gotta say, I was pretty pro-vegetarianism before this thread and the pro-vegan arguments are turning me off.
I have neighbors in my suburb who have a chicken coop. No killing baby chicks, just a bunch of chickens who walk around their yard. Are those eggs responsible for any more suffering than owning a dog? What about small scale dairy farms? What about honey? Bug-based food dye? Snake ownership? Or just leaving animals to exist in nature?

That's an oxymoron. A cow makes milk for its calfs, not for humans. A happy cow isn't in the farmers best interest because a happy cow isn't making milk for humans.

Backyard eggs are fine. idc. The problem is factory farming and the environmental impact of meat and milk consumption.

I'm still toying with the idea of keeping a few hives this year. My vegan friend (former, he broke and is back on meat lol) gave me sooooo much shit for thinking of doing it. "You're still enslaving the bees and stealing their honey". I'm like Jesus christ, you understand they can still come and go as they please, right? They don't give a shit if their hive is in a tree or a box in my yard. Dude wasn't having it, I may as well have bought a white suit and sipped lemonade on the porch, I was a "slave owner" according to him.

He's a very genuine person and our beliefs align for the most part. I almost ditched him when he said some ridiculous shit like anyone who eats meat cannot claim to be a good person. Also pointed out that vegan diets are not an option for, say, tribes living on the African Savannah or Alaska natives, so are they bad people? He wouldn't touch that lol. But I'm not gonna write someone off just because we have a differing of opinion as long as we don't get personal.

Read that again lol. That's what I'm saying, most vegetarians aren't as militant or extreme as vegans and are easier to get along with in general. I can eat a steak in front of my vegetarian friend, my vegan friends I won't even go out with because they always have something to bitch about and make observations and it drives me nuts. Like just stfu and have a good time for once, I'm not trying to be a grown man getting a lecture over ordering a real burger.

He's right, you know.

But yeah I agree with the topic title IF you produce your own eggs/milk using your own animals and of course treat them well. Chickens are probably the only thing most people can have though, any other animal takes too much room and stuff unless you live in the sticks

I find it odd how often people have no trouble believing large corporations are cruel and abusive to their workers who have some legal protections for some reason struggle to believe they don't abuse the farm animals they own when those animals have literally no rights.
