(inb4 Breaking Bad)

It's probably impossible now, especially since the actors for Reese, Malcolm, and Dewey have since quit acting (with Dewey's even seemingly dropping off the face of the Earth), but in this age of revivals and reboots, it's still kind of fun to think about.

With it being over 15 years since the finale, I can see Malcolm being a politician and working towards fulfilling the plans that his family thrust upon him, while being unhappy and bitter about it (he seemed somewhat optimistic in the finale, but I'd imagine that time changes things).

Reese would be a professional culinary chef, Dewey either a teacher or working in a STEM-related field, and Francis would be working some blue collar job and may have finally had kids with Piama; maybe he and Lois would have finally mellowed out with each other. Not sure about Jamie, but he along with their sixth child and maybe Francis'/Piama's kid(s) would probably have to play the role of the troublemaking teens that the older boys obviously can't be anymore. Lois may have moved up to being manager of the Lucky Aide store, while Hal is still working the same dead-end white collar job; both of them are waiting for both Jamie and their last kid to go off to college so they can finally retire or at least work towards retirement.

Much of the drama could come from Malcolm seeing how much happier his family--or at least, his brothers--are, while he is being forced on a path that is supposed to make him President of the United States, a destination that he's come to no longer want to walk towards. But at the same time, he knows that his family--Lois and Hal, especially--have their hearts set on Malcolm ultimately getting there and making changes to better the lives of people like them.

Whether it's this or something else, would you be interested in a Malcolm in the Middle sequel?

Isn't the oldest brother a crazy scientologist who's also brothers with Danny Masterson, the crazy scientologist rapist from That's 70s Show? Might be hard to get him back in the spotlight too lol

It would probably fall into the same trap that the Roseanne/The Conners revival fell into with DJ. They don't know how to write him as an adult so they rarely have him around and when he is, he's usually doing the same hobbies he tried as a kid.

Malcolm didn't know how to write Dewey aging when the show was on they wouldn't have a clue how to show him grown up.
