Not really. It's still missing a ton of QoL stuff even almost 6 years after the app's launch.

Ive been playing it since launch. Its fun collecting for me. If youre not into that then idk. The PvP sucks even though theres people that swear by it. Raiding is nice and all but its designed to be a money sink for the people that do it all the time

I never understood the appeal of playing a worse version of Pokmon without the classic battle system, and with added pay to win elements.

I feel like the remote raids (and pandemic) have killed my interest a little. I like the convenience but a lot of the communal aspect of the game has virtually vanished in my area.

I never got into it because it's not easy for me to get around town on my own. It seems made for people with cars, or who live in an area with a very good public transit system

This. I used to play a lot but now it's just sort of do a few little things each day if I remember to and have it on if I'm already walking around. I don't bother with pvp or trading and I don't do gifting much either because my items are always full (I've spent a ton of in game currency on more item space too). I pretty much only do remote solo raids except on rare occasions when a friend invites me to a legendary, but that is sometimes glitchy. Never spent real money on it and never will. Fighting rocket dickheads is kinda fun but sometimes annoying, but I like how charged moves work in those fights.

also I hate that some pokemon are only in certain places in the world. I heard Klefki or however its spelled is only caught in France.

Because it's free, a fun time waster when out walking around, and now you can transfer all your Pokemon to Home.

It's still what it is. I launch it when I'm going out to get groceries and shit, and I fight the team rocket dudes for eggs and potentially shiny shadow pokemon. I'll save poke balls for big excursions and use the physical poke ball catcher when I'm going somewhere like the mall or Vegas to just catch a bunch of shit at once and clear inventory space.

But at the end of the day, all I'm doing is shiny hunting

My main appeal was the PVP, so it was fun catching Pokemon with the best possible PVP IVs and stats. I really like the ranking system they have in PVP which makes it both competitive and fun to climb. However, PVP has become a laggy, glitchy mess and Niantic has done absolutely nothing to improve it to the point where it becomes more frustrating than fun. I've hit top rank (legend) every season before but won't this season because I have no desire to play anymore.

I tried it again and besides random Team Rocket battles, it's the same as 3 years ago >_> It still doesn't appeal to me anymore

I can't speak for other countries, but I can say for sure that it isn't only caught in France. Usually the region locked Pokemon are locked to entire continents, like Gen1 Mr Mime's in Europe, Tauros in America, Kangaskhan in Asia,...

Region-exclusive Pokemon in GO especially stings because unlike with battling, you can only trade with nearby players.

I wanted a red Flabb in the current Valentine's event, but my region only gets the yellow one (along with the rare orange and white ones).

It was always fun if you liked socializing with people. Id argue, it's less fun now cause it's more lonely. You still can bump into people tho. I think people who were looking at it purely for it's gameplay elements were dramatically missing the point of the game. Which it's fine if it's not for you. But, I'mma be a dick too if you hate on other people's hobbies just cause you're a penis butt.
