So many sociopolitical problems we're dealing with are the direct result of too many uninformed, gullible people having too much unrestricted access to the internet.

I don't get why people don't talk about this more often. The exact time frame where everything went to shit (early 2010s) was the same time frame where smartphones started to become ubiquitous and affordable.

Not necessarily. I'd say its peak was the mid 2000s.

Implement Internet Protocol Version 7 -- that'll mean that the Internet will finally merge with the human consciousness through allowing people, through Schumann resonances -- to direct connect to the internet without any hardware.

One of my least favorite things in the past few years was when they dug up Hotel Mario and tried to bury the old stuff under loads of really unfunny edits where they were walking in different places. That was it, that was all they could come up with apparently.
Disappoints me to see them attempt to taint things that used to be great.

This board was the best when it was just music, stickam, and group play sessions of team fortress 2. Now, its just the same dudes pulling up Reddit posts or old news articles. So they can all get riled up together

Was there a middle stage between the time people decided 'meme' meant image with text at the top and bottom and the point where it just dissolved into a meaningless nothing word which was kind of ironically much closer to the original recurring idea definition?
The first one was about 2009 or 2010, I think it was around 2015 it hit the point of no return.
