This movie was apparently something like 10 years in the making, with them filming the actual kids growing up into adults.

I've had the movie for the past 7 years and only now finally sat down to watch it, very good.

Although every one of the guys being an asshole drunk abuser was crazy is that a Texas thing.

The girl in the movie, Samantha, is the director's actual daughter

Just wow imagine using your own daughter for an experimental film project. I'm not saying its shou tucker Fullmetal Alchemist bad, but its up there.

I like the way TC thinks people don't know Boyhood was shot over many years, or that Lorelei Linklater is the director's daughter.

yea, I ended up liking it.

I was a fan of a couple of the director's other movies, though (A Scanner Darkly & Waking Life), so I felt like I had to give it a shot.

The Before trilogy isn't immediately the first thing you think of with the director? They're pretty interesting movies, and good too

some people might not know what the movie is at all and wanted to share that with those interested. I was intrigued when I found out and was part of the reason why I decided to watch it in the first place.

The Simpsons episode that satires it isnt half bad either.
